Welcome to Our Website

This website was created so that friends and family can enjoy seeing the photos we take on our backpacking and hiking adventures. We hope you enjoy looking at the photos as much as we enjoy taking them.

New: Guadalupe Peak

Labor Day Week, 2008, we made the journey once again to Guadalupe Mountains National Park at Pine Springs, Texas. This trip included a side treks to White's City, New Mexico, and Carlsbad Caverns and then to Huecho Tanks State Park and Franklin Mountains State Park in El Paso. The Mexican food in El Paso was fantastic - almost as good as the hot showers at a truck stop on I-10.

After nearly a full week of fog, drizzle, and thunderstorms, we finally loaded up and headed up the trail to Guadalupe Peak. After a night at the campsite near the top, we hiked (or, rather, climbed) up to the peak. The trip back down was an adventure all its own.

Kim and Rhonda's Adventures

Kim is an experienced backpacker.
Rhonda has a lot of catching up to do.

Grand Canyon, June 2008

Kim's 15th trip (5th Rim-to-Rim) and Rhonda's first.
We left home on June 6 and returned on the June 18, 2008. It was wonderful. Rhonda made it out (alive) and earned her "Rim-2-Rim" T-shirt. Wow. How can you explain something like that? You can't. But, we've plenty of photos for you to check out. Click here to get started!
