Big Bend National Park, December 26-31, 2007
Big Bend National Park's Lost Mine Trail leads up to a breathtaking view of the Chisos Mountains, on the back side of Casa Grande. This 4.8 mile trail is very popular and is very well maintained.
Castolan is now a ghost town on the Rio Grande River where the original store still operates and there a ranger station and restrooms there, as well as park personnel residences and an old adobe house.
West of Castolan is Santa Elena Canyon. It's a beautiful, peaceful place on the Rio Grande.
